There comes a time in every Orleanian's culinary journey where we go through a bit of a foodie-boredom phase; like you're smack in the center of Wonka's Chocolate Factory, and all you want is a damned steak. Twists on the classics just aren't thrilling you anymore, and what you need is a big RESET button. A good surprise.
KIN lies in an unassuming building; it's smaller, with warm decor and an open kitchen. The menu reads almost too simply for you to think anything thrilling is in store for you . . . and then you get your dish. Farm-to-table meets unexpected touches in this delicious space: a little coconut milk here, a little sriracha buerre blanc there.
Prepare for a serious food baby söpö-style with a linen cocoon dress by our favorite accessibly sculptural dressmaker Black Crane. Pair with homespun raw gemstone rings by our in-house designer, Times Deux, along with a vintage map cuff by Brandi Couvillion to echo your grassroots love for NOLA. A warm vetiver-based scent by local perfumer SMOKE brings home your laid-back, modern-chill vibe.
Keep it easy, söpö foodies! We'll see you next week.
